Matthew’s gospel is unapologetically Jewish. In this book Tommy Mann shows every Old Testament reference in Matthew, first showing how Matthew uses the reference, then going back to the original usage to show how the Old Testament author intended the text. In the end, Mann shows that Matthew wrote his gospel to be used by the early church as a year-long lectionary, because Matthew wanted to reach Jews as well as teach Jewish converts.
